GRACIAS
Debemos comenzar el manifiesto agradeciendo las múltiples muestras de
afecto y respeto a nuestra labor recibidas por vuestra parte desde el
cese temporal del portal.
Parece que tanto apoyo ha dado su fruto ya que en la reunión que
mantuvimos el pasado 1,2 y 3 de Febrero en tierras valencianas nos
sentíamos muy arropados y esto nos dió fuerzas para iniciar este
proceso renovador que tanto necesitamos.
A grosso modo os queremos comentar que es lo que va a ocurrir en los
siguientes meses en la Asociación Cultural Reggae y como podéis formar
parte de este proceso.
Tras una reflexión interna que nos sirvió para detectar los errores que
habíamos estado cometiendo estos años hemos trazado unos pasos para
fortalecer internamente la ACR antes de empezar a desarrollar los
diferentes proyectos que tenemos en mente y entre los que claramente se
encuentra Reggae-News.net en su versión 2.0.
En primer lugar pretendemos formar un equipo de trabajo serio, que
aporte los cimientos necesarios para afrontar con garantías de éxito
los diferentes proyectos que iniciemos. Por ello, os animamos a que los
que estéis interesados en formar parte del voluntariado de la ACR, nos
hagáis llegar un e-mail, donde nos contéis que es lo que podéis
aportar, teniendo muy presente que buscamos gente que pueda englobarse
dentro de estas categorías:
- Traductores de textos (inglés, francés, portugués, italiano, alemán,
euskera, catalán, gallego…)
- Programadores informáticos (XHTML/PHP/MySQL)
- Periodistas (reseñas discográficas, artículos, crónicas de conciertos)
- Economistas contables (conocimiento del plan general de asociaciones)
- Asesores legales y fiscales (orientado a asociaciones).
Mención especial necesita el llamamiento que hacemos para intentar
conseguir una figura que hasta ahora nunca habíamos tenido en
nuestra asociación, esta es la del "director artístico". La semana que
viene haremos un mailing masivo indicando los requisitos que
deberá reunir esta persona a la cual se le remunerará su
trabajo inicial en la ACR en el que deberá establecer el diseño
corporativo de nuestra organización. Ir preparando vuestros curriculums
y portfolios.
Una vez que contemos con la gente suficiente para empezar nos meteremos
de lleno con el proyecto Reggae-News que sufrirá cambios importantes.
Seréis vosotros, además de nosotros, los que llenéis de contenido el
portal además de indicar por un sistema de votaciones ponderadas que
noticias serán más o menos relevantes y por tanto tendrán mayor o menor
visibilidad en la web. No es nada nuevo, es un concepto que triunfa ya
en Internet, el llamado web 2.0 o web social y que nos gusta mucho
debido a que hace participes a todos en la edición y fomenta la idea de
comunidad y de hermanamiento. Algo que nos suena bastante en el reggae
¿verdad?.
En la ACR no creemos que la gente se defina por el país en el que viva
sino más bien por su cultura y su lengua por eso hemos decidido que
nuestro trabajo no debe ceñirse a demarcaciones políticas (las cuales
no siempre representan el sentimiento de cada individuo) y vamos a
abrirnos a la información internacional algo que no habíamos hecho
hasta ahora. La única división que plantearemos inicialmente es la del
idioma por lo que es nuestro objetivo contar con una versión en
castellano y al menos en inglés al lanzar el nuevo portal por ser estos
dos idiomas los más usados en la actualidad. Dependiendo de los
voluntarios de los que dispongamos podremos plantear iniciar versiones
en francés, euskera, italiano, català, portugués, galego o alemán. Nos
encantaría contar con gente bilingüe en cualquiera de estas lenguas.
Como puedes ver todas nuestras acciones se centran en que TU seas parte
importante de nuestra labor de difusión del reggae, bien como
voluntario/colaborador o bien como parte de la comunidad digital del
reggae que pretendemos aglutinar en torno a nuestros proyectos.
Estamos muy emocionados, una etapa nueva empieza y queremos que la
sientas con nosotros. Únete al reggae, únete a la ACR.

We’d like to start by giving our thanks. Over the past four
weeks and while the portal www.Reggae-News.net has been offline there
has been an incessant flow of support from all of you, be it directly,
on the street, by e-mail or by phone, which has been ringing off the
hook.
It seems that so much support has borne fruit given that during the
meeting held on Valencian soil between 1-3 February we felt we had
people’s backing, giving us the strength to get this much needed
process of renewal under way.
We’d like to give everyone a rough idea as to what‘s going to be
happening at the ACR over the coming months and how you can be a part
of the process.
Following a period of internal reflection we’ve identified the mistakes
we’ve been making over the years and have taken a few steps towards
strengthening the ACR internally, before we start developing the
various projects we have in mind. At the forefront of these is
Reggae-News.net version 2.0.
Firstly we will try to build a serious workgroup which will provide us
with the necessary foundations to succesfully deal with the different
projects we undertake. For this reason we strongly encourage those
interested in being an ACR volunteer to continue to get in touch and
provide us with your e-mail and tell us what you can bring to
the ACR, bearing in mind that we are looking for people who would be
able to help us in the following areas: translation (especially English
and French as well as Portuguese, Italian and German), web programming
(XHTML/PHP/MySQL), journalism (record and concert reviews,
articles), accountancy (knowledge of the Plan General de Asociaciones),
as well as fiscal and legal advice (related to associations).
We would also like to draw attention to our appeal to find someone to
fill a position that has never existed in our association until now,
that of artistic director. Next week we’ll undertake a massive e-mail
campaign outlining the profile of the type of person we are looking
for. This person will be remunerated for their initial work on the ACR
where they will be required to design a corporate structure for our
organisation. Get your CV’s and portfolios ready!
Once we have enough people on board we will go all out on the
Reggae-News project which will undergo fundamental changes. It will be
you, as well as us, who will provide the website with its content as
well as being able to use a voting system to decide which news items
are more or less relevant and consequently will have higher or lower
visibility on the website. This is nothing new. It’s a concept that is
already hugely succesful on the web: the 2.0 website which we like so
much because it makes everyone part of its editing process and
strengthens the idea of community and br@therhood. That’s something
that sounds familiar to us in the Reggae world, right?
The ACR believes that people can’t be defined by the country they live
in but rather by their culture and language and as such we have decided
that our work shouldn’t restrict itself to any political ideology
(which do not always represent every individual’s feelings) and are
going to open up to international news, something we haven’t done up
until now. The only division to be proposed initially is that of
language as our aim is to have a new Spanish version and at least an
English version when we launch the new site, this being because these
are currently the most widely used languages. Depending on the number
of volunteers we have we will be able to gauge the viability of
versions in French, Basque, Italian, Catalan, Portuguese, Galician and
German. We would be very grateful for people bilingual in any of these
languages to join us.
As you can see, all our actions are focussed on you being an important
part of our goal of spreading Reggae, whether it be as a
volunteer/contributor or as a part of the reggae community
that we are trying to bring together around all of our projects.
We are very excited; a new stage is under way and we want you to feel
